Here’s What to Know About the New Guidelines from June 8, 2020

With the first phase of Unlock 1.0, the Ministry issued guidelines for re-opening of malls, offices, religious places, and hotels from June 8, 2020.

The Ministry of Home Affairs imposed new guidelines for areas outside the containment zones, while the areas in containment zones will remain closed. The rules mentioned that only asymptomatic visitors will be allowed in these places. And the entrances everywhere will have sanitizer dispensers and thermal screening facilities.

People are instructed to use masks in public places, maintain social distancing, and also do not form large gatherings in malls. The instructions are to be followed by both the workers and visitors.

What is Opening?

Phase 1 of the ‘unlock’ begins from June 8 with new guidelines. The places to open are-

·       Religious places of worship

·       Shopping Malls

·       Hotels, restaurants, and other places that offer hospitality.

This phase will be followed by phase 2 and phase 3 in the upcoming months where permissions will be granted for further opening.

The night curfews will be continued with restrictions on movement before 5 am and after 9 pm.

Updates in Containment Zones

The District Authorities will identify the containment zones and those areas will observe lockdown till June 30.

Only essential services will be made available in containment zone areas, with no movement of people except for goods, services, and/or emergencies.

Besides this, the States have the power to regulate the movement of people in case of any threats regarding the spread of Covid-19.

In Worship Places-

·       Places of worship to have separate exits.

·        Offering prasad, holy water, or any other thing will be prohibited.

·       Touching of statues, idols, and holy books will not be allowed.

·       Shoes to be taken off in the vehicle itself.

·       The ringing of bells, choirs or singing groups will not be allowed.

In Restaurants-

·       50% of seating in restaurants.

·       Disposable menus are advised to be used.

·       Restaurants to encourage takeaways, with food packages left at the door without any direct contact being made.

·       Digital payments will be encouraged.

·       Restaurants should stagger patrons if possible.

In Shopping Malls-

·       The number of customers in every shop should be kept at a minimum.

·       Children play areas and cinema halls to remain close.

·       The number of people in elevators should be restricted in malls.

·       Crowd management in parking lots and outside mall premises to ensure social distancing.

In Hotels-

·       Luggage must be disinfected before sending it to the rooms.

·       Guests must provide travel history, medical condition, self-declaration form, and id to check-in.

Apart from this, masks are to be worn permanently while visiting any public place, with any kind of contact to be avoided.
