The unthinkable things are happening in 2020 and the news of the PUBG ban comes as another shock for all the mobile gamers. A total of 118 apps have been banned by the ministry of information and technology in India.
Earlier 59 Chinese apps were banned by the government and now the list increased to include more numbers. The apps were banned citing concerns of data security, integrity, sovereignty, defense of India, and public order after tensions between India and China at the Eastern Ladakh borders.
Starting today, all the Indian gamers are said to lose access to the popular battle royale game, PUBG Mobile. The rumors for the banning of apps prevailed widely earlier, however, now they come to be true.
The banned apps include Baidu, FaceU, WeChat, Tencent Watchlist, and many more. The biggest casualty is definitely PUBG Mobile- a battle royal game that has been one of the biggest multiplayer sensations over the last few years.
There are nearly 33 million active PUBG players in India, making it one of the most played games in the country. The game holds popularity on a different platform with people not spending time but even their money on this multiplayer game.
However, in the backdrop of escalating tensions between India and China, both PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite have been banned by the Indian government.
The government earlier today reported the complaints of allegedly stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users' information to the servers in an unauthorized manner lead to the decision of banning 118 apps from India.
Now when the government has officially declared banning PUBG, there is still a little chance to keep in touch with your favorite game.
Well, that might not entirely be the case.
How to Still Play PUBG in India?
According to the list released by the government, the 118 apps banned include PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite. However, gamers can still have access to the parent game PUBG.
PUBG does not have any Chinese connections. Instead, servers operated by PUBG corporation are used - that are the entities based out of South Korea. This allows all the PUBG addicts to enjoy playing PUBG in India but not on mobile phones or tablets but desktops and laptops.
This might not be an ideal wish but at least you still get access to play your favorite game in another form. With much more impressive graphics and immersive gameplay, PUBG users can continue to play PUBG on their PCs.
PUBG PC comes with a downside of spending money to purchase the game. But there is always another way. You can opt for PUBG Lite for almost the same gaming experience but without spending any money.
